First Setup

I pick up my first setup today from an "Estate Sale" Technics SA-AX530, Technics SL-DL5, and KEF Q70 speakers for $200. I hook everything up when I got home and it' all in perfect working condition.

Welcome any opinions or suggested upgrades on the gear.

Everything is basic wiring and cables that came with it.

The best thing you can do now is to look at your room. Add some carpet or a rug in front of the speakers to prevent reflections from your tile floor. Look at the walls - add some acoustic treatment at the points the sound reflects from the speaker to your walls and back to your ears. If the walls are hard at these ‘mirror points’ add some acoustic absorption to knock down the reflections. If you have a coffee table or anything big and hard between you and the speakers get rid of it.

Experiment with speaker location. See what you hear when you move things around. Experiment. Enjoy!

@W9TR Greatly appreciate it! I'm moving next month so I'll be able to dial that in a bit. I'm looking for a rack right now that will hold everything (Receiver, Record Player, 200 Disc CD Changer, and Tape Deck) and a comfortable listening chair. I've been looking at acoustic treatments for the room it will be in, Do you have any recommendations on places to buy from?
