2 boxes inside the other would be ok to ship something electronic that weighs around 15 lbs.
Put the item inside the smaller box and have it bubble wrapped with several wraps and strong tape to keep it covered. Then place the full box inside the larger box.
It should be tight enough to not move around when shaken. If it shakes at all, do it over. The smaller full box should not be loose inside the larger box. Several wraps of bubble wrap or foam sheets should keep it snug.
Working at the Postal Service has shown me disaster after disaster of split open boxes with priceless items destroyed. Most cases the packaging was at fault. Some packages made me wonder how they got into the system at all. There is no excuse for poor packing. Blaming the Postal Service is not a cop out.
