Only 15 seconds? I guess you did not bother reading any of them. I scanned them and could find no evidence of a direct causal effect for cancer.
I read them all. The fifteen seconds was referencing the time it took to find the information. You are correct about no conclusive proof about direct causal effect for cancer, but there's enough evidence to warrant further research into the possibility. Cancer is just one of many physical problems possibly induced by getting tattooed; some of the others HAVE been proven as direct possible side effects of the process.
Yes everyone is entitled to their opinion. But you are also judging people based on their decisions.
No, I'm not. I hate tattoos, not people.
You say vanity like it is a bad thing. It is not.
Yes, it is. When did vanity become a positive personality trait?!? Carly Simon, where are you?
How do you know that they are not charitable in helping others, while still getting tattoos?
I never said that, ever. I said I hate tattoos, and yes, they indicate bad judgement in my opinion. Having a tattoo doesn't make one a bad person any more than any number of OTHER stupid things people do.
Health risks? For some people it may be a health risk, but different people have different levels of risk aversion. I guess you think a person who free climbs El Capitan is babe and saying to everyone, “look at me”? Please. Oh and let’s not forget those BASE jumpers.
Huh? "..is babe?"... not sure what that means. If one climbs and BASE jumps for the experience and the rush, it has NOTHING to do with vanity or "dig me" attitudes. I've done quite a bit of rock climbing, some cliff diving, and other adrenaline-junkie type things...I get it. However, if you're doing those things so you can post them on InstaSpam, get thousands of "likes," and call attention to yourself, then yes, that's definitely a way of saying "look at me." I don't have a single picture of me climbing, diving, etc. (sooo...yeah, I can't prove it unless you want to interview the very few eyewitnesses in my friend and family circles).
I am not biased. I like tattoos for myself, and I don’t have any hangups about other people having them.
You are biased, just in favor of them. That's fine. We're both biased.
Of Course, achieving success is don’t for one’s self. Few people do it to make other people happy. I just fail to see how getting tattooed hinders this quest for success.
Yes, humans are at the top of the food chain on this planet, called Earth. I don’t believe in extraterrestrial life, and even if it did exist, they would not be interested in us, unless we pose a threat to them. We don’t.
I tried to be as subtle about this as possible, given the forum rules. It ain't the food chain I'm referencing, nor visitors from other planets. I am grateful for the life I have, the wonderful people in my life, this gorgeous planet we've been given to inhabit, and the amazing thing called the human body I've been given. To whom shall I direct this gratitude, eh?...And shall I express this gratitude by defacing the sacred gift of my body?
Fast food is not good for anyone. There are better options. This is verifiable. But a better choice than tattoos, that is up to individual’s decisions.
A better choice would certainly seem to be not taking unnecessary health risks for vanity's sake and cosmetic reasons. For what it's worth, I view nose jobs, breast implants, Botox injections, "permanent makeup," etc., exactly the same way.
I am not trying to convince anyone that they should get a tattoo, whereas you appear to be trying to tell everyone why they should not get them, based on your biased beliefs.
Fair enough, although "biased beliefs" ignores the facts surrounding verified health risks of tattoos. Some of my hatred of tattoos is based upon my beliefs, absolutely, but it's a fact that it's safer not to get one. There are health reasons not to be tattooed.... that's a fact, and not a belief. You believing that they're 100% safe and pose no health risk... THAT'S a belief, and a disproven one at that.
