  • Hi, beej! I made an account here just to message you. I saw you post something about a guide to a Pioneer PL-5 in 2010?? Do you have this guide still??

Honestly the only thing I really need is to know how to change the needle. I am struggling. Anyway, if you're feeling super kind and helpful maybe you can shoot me an email anniepetroni@gmail.com .

I'd really appreciate it ! Thanks, BEEJ!
Following the thread to here in hopes of getting a copy of the service manual for the Pioneer PL-7 turntable. I've got it torn apart, and I hope I can get it put back together. Follow a lot of links for the manual, but everyone wants $$$. It seems to be in good shape, but dusty with dust bunnies inside. My email is gwcurts@gmail.com. Thanks!
Hi there beej! I recently purchased a PL-730, and it has issues holding a steady speed. Based on what I've seen here and elsewhere online, I hopefully just need to get at that switch with some de-oxit, but I don't see the way in there. If you still have a guide for this and any advice, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
To Beej - I have a faithful old Pioneer PL-7 that has worked well for a generation, until now - it has started doing the endless loop thing that many others have reported. I have never had a turntable apart but I'd like to give it a try. Would appreciate it if you could forward me your guide for this repair? Thanks! slrn@metrocast.net
Hi could you please share the PL5 disassembly guide with me? I have recently purchased one and am having some issues. Service manual is good, but if you have further details that would be great! davelenin@hotmail.com

Hello from New Zealand, I have been digging for info on a Pioneer PL5 I recently bought and lo and behold alot of people have had the same issue with the speed control as I am having. I noticed you have been offering a disassemble guide. Do you still have those details and could possibly share them with me? would be a great help. The service manual is good but if you have some further details that would be great!
Hi Beej, - I own a Pioneer PL-5 and don't know how to take it apart and clean it since I also have speed and endless looping issues. Can you please send me the instructions. Thanks. Chito (chito.calleja@gmail.com)
Hello Beej - have just bought a PL-4 to get my son his first leg up into playing vinyl on his own setup - it all seems to work ok but the return switch jams down and I cannot seem to work out how to get into the thing. Can you please forward me a copy of the process I need to follow.

    Many thanks - lydneykopite@gmail.com
Greetings Beej. I just bought a PL-7 and it seems you are the resident expert. I would like to take it apart and clean it. I hear you have instructions on this procedure.
Also, there is no ground wire. Is this an issue? I seem to get a hum, especially if I touch the platter. Thanks in advance. Email is guysmith21461@gmail.com

Hi Beej, I recently inherited my dad's PL-7 but 45s don't play right and now 33s are even starting to play too slowly. Everything on it is still from 1982 I'm sure it's in need of some cleaning and a replacement belt. GIven that you're the guru for this record player could you to email me the service guide for the table? My email is theamazingorange@gmail.com, and thanks a ton in advance!

Hi Beej, I live very remote and have been looking for a TT. Got a free dirty PL-4, the tonearm fell out! Hairlike wires sheared. So I threw the dice and have a PL-5 w/speed issues on the way from Ebay. I'm hoping to get your manual, and start fresh. I'd be much abliged. I'm still hurt from the free PL-4's fail.I took care to box the parts if needed.Thank-you, Sancho Verde. Email: knowthecrow@gmail.com
Hello again. Thank you for the manual. It worked! The 45s play again. I have another question about something I found when I opened it up. There was this thing that looked like it had black tape wrapped around it and the tape was decomposing? I'll see if I can figure out how to post a picture. But, thanks so much for your help!

I have a PL-7 with the endless loop issue with the tone arm and am tired of lifting it back manually after each play. Could you please send me the service manual/disassembly guide and any hints on fixing the problem. Thanks, Cliff.
