  • Hi Dave, I picked up a set of KG4's from 1984 it says 4 ohm nominal on the back. Both tweeters are missing and the plastic bracket on the one horn broke off.
I am thinking of making a plate where the tweeter was and attaching an aftermarket tweeter from Parts Express

A fellow AK'er suggested i contact you, Any advice for a replacement that would work ?

An adapter plate may be your best bet. Your problem then becomes the KG sensitivity of 94 db which is quite low for Klipsch. Most modern tweeter drivers have more output and are normally at least 104 db efficient. Current state of the art drivers can be made to work with attenuation though. If it were me I would hold my nose and ask at the garage sale section of the Klipsch forum for a set of those.

Next would be EBay where everything shows up sooner or later but it may take a while before what you need shows up. For whatever reason there are a lot of KG4's for sale out there right now.
Hi Dave - I believe you are the maker of the sMAHL tweeter? Where do I get them? I have a pair of LSI's in need of tweeters.
    Thanks!

    Hi Richard,
You can order a set from me through Paypal. $298 to fieldweld@att.net will get a set on the way to you. Let me know when you do this so I can double check Paypal.

Might be a few weeks, but that is the plan. Thanks Dave!
Hi Dave, we spoke on the phone a few years ago , when I purchased them.
I tried, horizontal, vertical, time aligned & pulled forward. Do you remember this? Dan
