This is a question from a friend. I thought I'd check here on AK...

So, I've never heard of the Shure 25 and can't seem to find much info on it.

1) Is this a good cart?
2) Any recommendations on a replacement stylus?

Shure SPS family (the "25" is not a 25, but a PS for "Performance & Sound"...). Iirc, the blue needle was the NPS4 alias N14.

This may help too.


Note that your friend has the basic stylus, the N14. If he wants to upgrade, he can get a new-old-stock N11 stylus for around $30. The Pfanstiehl number is 770-DEX.
