I'm replacing my old copy with the newer Miller found at that bt.etree link :music:

I found this Heather Maloney pic at moderator Brett A's playlist while Googling this date and I'm ok with that :)

AHA! Here's his post about this show... (Thanks Brett!)

The Grateful Dead - Stanley Theater 9-28-72 Disc Two (a legally downloaded lossless bootleg in my homemade watercolor jacket).
This has my all-time favorite "Greatest Story" and "Brokedown Palace"
I was parked on main street in Brattleboro, VT, outside of Twice Upon a Time. (That's Turn It Up! cd's up there on the left corner)

It looks like he's parked across the street from Mocha Joe's coffee roasters.
It's worth the stop if you're a coffee lover and find yourself in Brattleboro :thmbsp:

Yep, that's across from Mocha Joes. Some of the best coffee in the eastern seaboard. Especially their Americanos.

And I'm happy to see Heather Maloney get more press. She's really got something special going on. Her next CD (with her own band(pictured)) is coming out soon.

When I can't hunt down any good covers for the show I'm listening to I head here: http://****yesgratefuldead.tumblr.com/archive

It's a great blog with a ton of cool pictures and notes. Enjoy :)

Best. Dead. Show. Ever.

6/24/70. Capitol Theater. Portchester, NY.

Jerry: "We have a little bit of technical preparation to do, Mickey has to get his gongs all together 'cause we're gonna do Dark Star"

GD + Port Chester = magic

I grabbed it from archive at that link and played some of Easy Wind.
Good sound from an aud and high energy show so installed mkw Audio Compression Tool found here to convert it.
That converter was so quick & easy that I had to check to make sure it actually did anything...it's a total no-brainer
It just finished burning using CDburnerXP and it's playing now :music:

Interesting story at that archive page about how we got it from that hoarder :tresbon:

The in-laws were over today so we spent the afternoon watching DVR'ed eps of Aerial America and The Untold History Of The US (Oliver Stoner)
Back to the tunes and MAN, Big River from St. Paul is great!
Here Comes Sunshine playing now and I sure do love this song :music:

Another Heather pic from Brett's playlist :tresbon:

The Dark Star>Eyes Of The World is outstanding!!!

from the thebestofwebsite review:

The second disc of Dick's Picks Volume 28 begins with a bible story, "Greatest Story Ever Told," which impresses strongly with Keith and Jerry throwing some riffs back and fourth in stunning fashion.
The instrumental is slightly weakened by some poor back up vocals from Donna. <--wow, I've never heard of such a thing ;)

The meat of the show begins with "Dark Star"; it has a nice friendly approach to it.
Jerry and Phil are the two leaders, but the rest of band are certainly not on break.
This version includes a Phil led "Eyes of the World" jam; the concluding portion of song that they performed in '73 and '74.
Aware that they are playing "Dark Star", they do not take the jam too far, they just give a little tease.
After the vocals and some experimental playing Phil takes over and busts into mini bass solo with Billy behind him, eventually segueing into "Eyes of the World."
Throughout this lengthy version, we are treated to wonderful passages and interplay.
By far the two MVP's are Phil and Jerry, as anytime Garcia takes a pause Lesh tosses out an idea that is immediately countered.

As the song concludes it hits a climatic peak so perfect that it should be illegal.

I don't have 2/28, so instead I'm listening to 2/22 il.

don't forget, further are playiing and streaming live tonight for new years....

"and a happy Bob Weir"
