your uncommon, oddball gear? post 'em, with pics!

Nocturnal transmissions
Anyone have pics of your rare, oddball, or uncommon gear?

How about pieces we don't often see posted here at AK, like the Carvers, Phase Linear, Concept, ect?

How about a piece by a less popular maker, or at least, less mentioned, such as Goldstar, Optonica, SAE, Mitsubishi, JVC, Sanyo, vintage Sony, maybe even Akai (receivers/amps, I know the RTRs and the Cassettes are common).

And if you have something pretty unique, howzabout a rare piece by a big name, maybe something like a dark faced unit, or rare reverb, or spacializer?

We've all seen pics of Sansuis, Pioneers, and even Yamahas. Let's eyeball the other brands here.

By the way, the black Optonica receivers, a division of Sharp, are, to me, one of the best looking receivers ever.

I'm sure most of us know about my mystery Audiograph 2A100 receiver, if you do a search you'll find pictures of it, and I've got some over in the gallery. All evidence points to it being one of a kind.

On the side of real production goods I've got three Project One Mark 1500s, if anyone wants to see some pics I'll get some up in a few days. Very uncommon, but at 150wpc its one of the big boys.

I guess my Elac 10H might be oddball, defintely not common.

I just bought a Kenwood KA-8150. European version of the KA-8100. I will post up some pics later. It has the grey anodized faceplate. IMO, it's prettier than the silver.

My somewhat unusual gear would include:

Quad AM3 AM/SW/MW tube tuner
JVC MCT-105E/5108 tuner
JVC MCA-105E/5107 integrated amp
HK3500 Cassette Player
Kenwood KT-9900 and KA-9800 (bronze faced Euro versions of the KA/KT-8300 combo.

Is the HK3500 the TOTL cassette deck with the big VU meters? If it is I've got one of those with the original owners manual. Looks mighty impressive for a cassette deck.

That is correct, Yrly. Mine looks like it was used in a studio and is pretty beat up. But, it's built like a tank and still functions near flawlessly.

Nice looking Elac!
You just brought back the memories for me! My very first "real" turntable was an Elac (Miracord) 50h. I remember it was $99.95 at Pacific Stereo, around 1972.

I'll put this under uncommon, I've only seen one other in 20 years of scrounging for equipment.
