Avatars, Freud and You.

I had to ditch Binky he was starting to really annoy me. I wanted to slap myself. Plus I was feeling a bit dumber than usual. Mona at the beach is much more aesthetic and soothing.

The images that make up all the individual avatars evoke certain emotional and psychology responses.

What kinda effect do you think your avatar has?

.....mine shows how I would dress at the lake with a neat boat on the shore....red swimming trunks with leather sandals, that's it, wishin' we'd hurry up and ski....smiling, of course....what a honker.....

It makes you want to sit on the floor in the dark and watch the little glowworms crawl over your hand for hours.

I just wanted to represent my generation in some sort of way. Of all the cheesey programs we watched during that time, I think that this promo shot was the coolest. And a certain place for Farrah in my heart.

In all seriousness and modesty, many have said that they liked mine; the few times I'd changed it, people said they actually missed it. I just wanted something that represented stereo and sound, and a blaring, bouncing speaker filled the bill perfectly from Day One.

I wanted to make people aware that there are tens of thousands of dogs waiting to be adopted. (My favorite breed is the German Shepherd - as you can see). You can save a life by adopting.

My avatar is just a reminder of the beauty that is away from this computer. AK is a little too addicting sometimes!

Stumbled across mine recently. The in the original version of it, he was moving, but when I shrunk it to fit on AK, the movement stopped too.
I can still hear him saying:
"Can I be of assistance?"

You would have to be near enough 40 and probably Canadian to know where he was from.

Seems there's a resurgence of avatars that display women as a sexual object. Sometimes I like them and sometimes I don't. They do create a hostile envirnment for women though, maybe that's what some fellas want.

Mine shows my most important piece of hi-fi gear. Fitting on a hi-fi forum I suppose though it's also a conspicuous display---see what I have kind of thing.

Now I wanna know the Freudian implications of flashlight enthusiasm. Oh man....

I try not to take life too seriously. In fact, I can see humor everywhere. An old plastic bucket, for example.

I gotta say this line: a hostile envirnment for women

Cracks me up. Would this be the women who dress like "Poohsan" who are offended? Or the thousands of other women who make a living posing nude, Or the Academy Award winning actresses who do semi nude love sceens, or the women who walk through the mall with their fake boobs popping out of their shirts and the top half of the arses peeking over their jeans?

For those of us MEN women are sexual objects the human animal depends on it for it's continued existence.

ROFLMAO

So what does it show women here when some of us have avatars showing off our Grand daughters???

I am showing off my cabinet for my 1956 Chrysler car radio. That car is a real 1956 Chrysler 300B. I real high dollar car in its day. Some called it the banker's hot rod. Cars are another passion of mine. Hence the name polaraman. The keeper of two 1963 Dodge Polara 500's. It is a shame that some can abuse a piece of our tube and cylinder history.

I love Pink Floyd and sexy women, as do most of everyone else on this forum. I just thought this picture was artistic yet tastefully done. I downloaded it years ago, don't remember where.
