"Boy wonder"
So if any one remembers Mike Jarve's threads with this title, read on. Mike and I have been trying to find a way to get a little get-together going up here (Northern Minnesota) for a few years now. I belong to the church in the "Holy Hi-fi" threads http://www.audiokarma.org/forums/showthread.php?t=185540 and I've managed to get permission to use the church for a little AK get-together!
So if anyone is willing to come to Virginia MN for a weekend you invited (includes any AK'ers from up in Canada). My grandma has a cabin on Lake Fourteen (within 20 miles of Virginia) that I'll have a BBQ at after the main event and anyone not wanting to drive back that day can camp out for the night. I do mean camp out (aka tents and the like) because there's only three bedrooms and a few couches so it would get cramped fast if there is any interest.
I'm willing to have a swap table out at the cabin, but not at the church... just simpler. Another note is that it has to be a dry event, obviously in the church, but also at the cabin; it was a stipulation on letting me use the cabin for a shindig. Sorry about bumming anyone out.
I don't have a firm date set yet, I'll throw out Sep 5-6 for now; but we're able to do it anytime around them. I'm assuming a Sat Sun will work best for most people. I'm willing to set a date that works for as many people as possible so let me know if this date positively sucks for you :tears:
If you're n the fence about driving all the way here, read up on the Holy Hi-Fi Batman threads; I think there's at least three of them. And no Mike is not exaggerating the acoustics in the place, anything that's worth the space it takes up sound positively wonderful in this space
And by all means bring your own gear and music! It will be a lot less fun for Mike and I, if we're just playing with our old "junk" the whole time.
And for anyone at Ron's last fling: THERE WILL BE NO DRUM SOLO AT THE CHRUCH! Unless someone brings spare stain-glass windows

Guaranteed they won't be there, so the church and fish are safe. I can't commit to date, crippled auto and money constraints...no job yet either. The AK 2009 CD is awesome! I thought it sounded fantastic B4 I finished my SX-1250 recap. Now it sounds :yippy:
