Whoops. Appears that he was moving along pretty good at some point, the spoiler is fully deployed. I bet the insurance company is not too excited.

Here's what I found interesting (hint: it starts at the 6th word of the second paragraph and ends at the ninth word):

"About 3 p.m. a low-flying pelican distracted him as he traveled north on Interstate 45 just south of the hurricane levee near Omega Bay.

The man jerked the wheel, dropped his cell phone, and the car’s front tire left the frontage road and entered a muddy patch, which foiled his attempt to maneuver away from the lagoon."

Think he was texting someone?

maybe his wife gave him a call, he was not alone, and the a floater will be found in a week or so?

In case the AKer who normally makes this comment doesn't see this thread, I'll do the honors:

"That'll buff out".

I wonder what it will take to fix the car

500 grand ?

why did he let the engine run for so long ?

Apparently, this guy doesn't appreciate that car as much as other folks do. There are plenty of folks that would not let that happen, regardless of the 'reason'.

This sounds like so much Conceited Snot, & in a way, it is...But some people, regardless how fat their wallet is, just really don't deserve to have things like this...And, I think, SHOULDN'T have them under any circumstances...Me, I couldn't afford a set of wiper blades for this barouche, but if I ever was lucky enuff to have one in my stewardship, I would love it, & pet it, & play w/it, & call it "George"...And woe be unto him, her, or it who dared desecrate it in any way....
