Shame it doesn't show what the base is. Nice table. Go and have a look what is there to lose. Are they using the red spiral piece as an antenna.

My lower shins and ankles hurt just thinking about it.

I don't know about around there but here I can go to habitat restore and pick up similar slabs for about 10% of their listed price.

I don't need a coffee table, but I have this perverse, morbid curiosity to see how they made a nice receiver into a base, and what model they sacrificed.

They advertise them around here for $79. Take off the labor for creating the front edge and they're cheaper.

Too satisfy your curiousity, the seller says it is a QRX-9001, with a cut cord, some scratches on the wood case. I told him that I would like to purchase the receiver, and he quoted 150.00. So, either a 150.00 door stop, or maybe a receiver needing another cord to get it at least up and running. Waiting to hear back on when I can make the trip over to Vashon.

Wow. Cool, I hope. I wish I could pick it up. I just hope the face hasn't been trashed by errant toes. Good luck, man! Keep us posted! :thmbsp:

I think I'd leave the 'base' and use an old Pioneer SX-1250 (non-working) I have lying around as the base. It would make the table a little higher, maybe...

Will do. Supposed to catch the ferry over to the island and hook up around 1pm. Still awaiting a couple of answers about the actual condition as well. Hopefully the receiver hasnt shrunk a couple of inches from all the weight.
