KR-6060 Questions

Hi,

I just locally purchased a KR-6060 (the '79-'80 model, not the KR-6600 which sometimes also seems to be called the 6060 for some reason), but it didn't come with a manual.

Does anyone own this unit and have the manual and perhaps even the service manual? It's in great shape and offsets are pretty good (worst is 35-38mV on right channel), but would like to get as much information on it as possible as well as knowledge on how to adjust offset in case things drift further or I have it open anyway and it's an easy/low risk adjust.

Also, I assume I have to take off the sides to open the top and look inside, but would be nice to get some input from someone who's done it and can give me a few pointers.

Thanks a lot!

Hi Steve, thanks for the response.

The KR-6600 has two photo inputs, A/B/C speaker outputs, mic input, etc.

My KR-6060 has only one phono input, A/B speaker outputs only, no mic input.

They seem quite different, with the 6600 seeming more old style and 6060 more modern. Are you certain they're actually the same with different cosmetics?

Thanks a lot.

The 6050 manual shows dissassembly by removing brackets at the to of the rear panel and sliding the top would piece back. IIRC taking the side panels off doesn't supply access to anything.

Thanks.

Now I wasn't looking for problems, but one came up. But looks like you advised on this in another thread.

I have the exact same symptoms - lights flickering upon power on and then speaker relay finally comes on - but actually mine can go back into light flickering mode.

Do you think it's the power switch?

Is it a pain to access on the Kenwoods (i.e. do you have to take the front plate off)?

Thanks, really, for all your help. :thmbsp:
