Spare the tigers, kill me
Hi all,
I have sourced all components for Amp camp Amp.Its a cute little Class A SE amp from Nelson Pass http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/diyaudio-com-articles/214808-amp-camp-amp-1-a.html

PCB layout is little different than NP.It is designed by Rudi Ratlos from diyaudio

Nice job! Looks good like it is. How does it sound?

Parts for case

Partsconnexion sells a wide diameter foot that is relatively thin, part #MISCEL-67500-301. The nickel colored ring is plastic (used to be brushed aluminum) but is a good piece of hardware. I've used them on a number of amp cases.

Faceplate can be anything you dream up. It might be cool to have something that relates to NP's Genesis of the Amp Camp design, however you interpret that. You could get real involved and have multiple layers of acrylic or glass, etched or tinted, to bring forth your ideas.

Thanks Lance for good advise.I always liked your case work:thmbsp:Partsconnexion footers are good but shipping spoils the deal.I can get it done at real cheap but good quality.I am thinking of Wood faceplate or may be no faceplate. My friend did built few B1 cabs with Teak wood front for us.Here are the pics:

Can you provide a link to where you got the PCBs? I know you said DIY, but I was wondering if there was a person on DIYaudio selling them?

I have a pair here Matt that I can't seem to get to work. I may be the only human unable to build anything electrical and get it to work. Here they are! Not working!

Damn, those are some nice cases. My problem is that I can solder/get things to work but I have zero skills when it comes to case assembly.

What's wrong with your amps?

I'm not sure. Plugged one in got what I thought was a whiff of smoke and no light. Checked and double check, got frustrated and let them sit.

Hi Sachin,

Your cases look great!

Thanks George,
credit goes to my friend. We have designed it together with the help of some other friends, but he did the hard work.He should receive remaining components today,so he can fully build it today or tomorrow.I will tell him to continue this thread.

Regards,
Sachin

All the PCB's I get it done locally.ACA PCB design is by a Diy Audio member Rudi_ratols.DIy Audio Store was out of stock that time since long,so I offered few PCbs to them.

Nice looking preamp! I like the layout of the internals.
The teak faceplate is something I could live with and gives the case a classy look.

I haven't done much with wood faceplates, maybe I should change on that. FWIW, I think Dodog and I are going to make some monoblock Amp Camp cases. There was talk of wood in our discussions. We'll see...

@ejfud--Gary, have you brought any of the local Electronic Brain Trust in on your problems?

Good looking project. That teak case with the orange illumination looks amazing. I've always liked those buttons.

OK I read this from the beginning. At the risk of sounding stupid (maybe this is an extension of a previous thread). What is this? (I get its a single ended integrated) but what else. Power expectations? Passive pre? It doesn't seem to have much transformer so I'm guessing its relatively low powered. Did anything preceed it? Mock up is pretty. The woodwork mock ups are works of art. Without the wood, is everything off the shelf? Could you estimate total parts cost? It looks like a cool project. Oh , any chance group build offer in the future. I'm about 4 projects behind. I really need to hit the bench.
