Not sure what this is, some type of tube amp & speaker in a case. I got it at a thrift store 1-2 years ago and stored it in the dungeon(garage).
It was just out of reach to see who made it.
weighing in at 51.26 Lbs. the transformer is probably the half of weight. This is a very clean second hand purchase, with just the left channel DC offset in the high 90's. Now both right and left DC run + - 2.0
I purchased the basic kit from AES last spring. Installed on a Hammond aluminum chassis with gold plated tube sockets, gold plated connectors and an upgraded volume pot. It's the first electronic project that I have built that worked the first time I turned it on! The sound is incredible for a...
This is the heart of my simple 2 ch system. It's a Pioneer Elite integrated amp. 120 wpc dual mono design. Best sounding amp i've ever owned. And for $15 that I paid for it. the best deal i've ever gotten.
Here is a wide shot of my just put together 2 ch system.
The speakers are Polk Audio SDA-2B. with upgraded/updated Polk RD0-194 silk dome tweeters. Replacing the hard old SL2000 tweeters.
The rest of the system is very simple and uncluttered. It is a Pioneer Elite A-88X integrated amp...
this is the heart of my two channel system. It's a Pioneer Elite int amp. It's from around 1985 or 1987. Not much information is out there on this sweet sounding amp. It's rated at 120wpc dual mono design. Let me tell you it sounds amazing. Not the most powerful amp I've ever used, but certainly...
This is my Pilot 245-A integrated amp just after I pulled it from it's console. Push-pull amplifier with 6BQ5/EL84 output tubes, about 20 watts per channel. This amp has the same output transformers as the venerable Pilot 232 amp. Note the faceplate in the background, and see the...
I pulled this out of an Olson console. Added a power switch, fuse assembly, volume pot, jewel light, and new power cord. EZ81 rectifier, 12AX7 driver, and EL84/6BQ5 power tubes. Pretty amazing sound from an amp smaller than a shoebox!
Marantz SR2000 receiver. Paid $50 CAD for it at a used record shop, with none of the lights working. Replaced bulbs with white LEDs. 30 wpc, for those interested.
