    FM Stereo Demultiplexor IC chip BA1310 LM1310 NTE801 ECG801 - all the same?

    I've got a stack of Harman Kardon 330A, 330B and 330C and they all have a BA1310 IC chip in a DIP-14 14 pin package that handles the FM signal demultiplexing. Pin #6 drives the stereo indicator lamp, too, apparently. One of these units wasn't lighting that lamp correctly and I swapped the BA1310...

    Would a variable capacitor benefit from a blast of Deox to the fins.

    I have a couple vintage Harman Kardon receivers. One is a 230 B and the other is a Three Thirty and neither one gets decent reception even with a decent antenna. I am wondering if those fins oxidize or are these vintage HK's known to have substandard tuners? BTW I have a Nikko that has a tuner...
