    Do different turntable brands & models really produce different sound quality?

    This is probably a dumb question, but I don't understand how specific models/brands of turntable could affect sound quality. I understand why needles make a difference, and I understand how some turntables might be more or less durable than others, but do turntables really "interpret" the sound...
