    I have had this Rega RB 300 tonearm on a crappy custom TT I made out of MDF , plywood and a rack system Kenwood TT guts with a wimpy platter. It served me well for a while before I really got into TT's. I also Had an AR XA but never really gave it much of a chance as it needed a lot of work...
