Is ONS the worth the mark up compared to ISC?

Looking at MJ15024/25 TO-3 Transistors and ONS (Onsemi) cost three times more than the same ones from ISC (Inchange Semiconductor Company), are the they worth the extra? What have your experiences been? Shouldn't they be the same, if the specs are?

    Another TO-3 ➡ TO-3P output conversion

Another TO-3 ➡ TO-3P conversion I received this Sansui 317-II, which has the right channel dead. The owner said he uses Alesis passive monitors at 4 ohms. This version accepts minimum 8 ohms or higher. Also, the unit was wired for old 220V operation and had 2 blown 8A 60V (!!) fuses. Checked...

Noble Resistors on Accuphase E-202 main driver board-720-0002-00

Hello everyone, I wanted to resurrect this thread. I need help identifying the part number for the noble resistors on the main driver boards (720-0002-00) of my accuphase E202. One of the TO shorted and cause 2 of the resistors to crack. Is there an upgrade for those resistors and if so what is...

How to apply thermal compound to TO-3 mica insulators

I've read a few of the threads here on AK on which thermal compound to use and how to apply it when replacing TO-3 transistors. I'm replacing all the output transistors in a vintage Kenwood KR-6140A quadrophonic receiver, so I'm doing this thermal compound on a mica insulator for the first time...

    swaping new lamps for old

I have been trying to make myself useful to the folks who post here because they have helped me out in so many ways with my restoration projects. I tried some picture posts but maybe Youtube is the ticket: For altering TO-3P onto a heat sink that once held TO-3. Specifically putting in...
