    Film caps for B+ power supply filters?

    Any thoughts on using all high voltage film caps instead of electrolytics for B+ power supply filtering? A 50uF 630 volt film cap is about $12. Not crazy expensive if they offer longer life. Pitfalls? Other than the fact they don't fit the typical round footprint. Benefits? Matt

    Help to ID a commercial power supply (ham or other radio)

    I am hoping to find out what this goes to, in order to find it a good home, rather than pull apart for the iron. Uses a pair of 5R4s. Has output for transmitting, input from MIC and receiver. Any clues appreciated!
