070-031 replacement information

...D302 on my MC2120's PS board is shorted. no wonder no lights were on.

i found, by searching here, that the correct replacement is 1N5395GP. any reason not to use 1N4004 or eq.?

for some reason, vishay ahs these listed with some schottky notes - I also have some schottky's that might fit the bill.

i am unsure why these seem to be such a specific requirement and would prefer not to wait for an order from mouser...

and if i order this, i'm preparing for more possibly defective parts downstream, to put in my cart and have them ready if needed. can anyone give me replacement info on:
- 132-090 (i searched and found this to be MPSA14, though this seems to be a darlington, which is not what the schematic shows - ??!??!?)
- 132-143 (which is indicated to be MPSD05, which i cannot even find at the sual suppliers...)

If one of the 2 diodes is shorted replace both, a 1N4004 is OK, also replace the two 2200 uF capacitors as they are usually the reason the diodes short.
I think that the reason the darlington is not shown on the schematic was to simplify the schematic, they have done this on several schematics and I have been caught by it. Most any darlington 25V and above will work, just watch out for the lead identification, the replacements sometimes are different.

c_dk - I assume this means (in your very - quintessentially... - concise way), that 132-150 was Mac substituted w/ 132-172, which is equivalent with mpsd55 which is also equivalent with mpsa55 - is this correct?

Yes...added a few more from the 1986 & 1990 semi data sheets

Mac used #171/172 and 235/236 to replace scores of semis in 1990

Again must dress leads correctly will not drop in
