One other option is an infinite baffle, manifold subwoofer. The subs are column mounted, below the floor (in a crawl space or basement), and fire up through the floor and into the listening room. Just cover the opening with a floor grate. It looks similar to this (add as many subs as you can fit and afford).

My HSU VTF-15 MKII sub goes down to 16hz for $1000. Have been extremely happy with it. On sale this weekend for $850. I cant imagie why you need to go below 16hz since we can only hear down to 20hz. Well unless you want to communicate with whales.....

My Velodyne HGS 12 1250watts rms 3000watts peak is extreme has usuable output to 16hz I believe 86db at 16hz which is felt not heard . I had 2 of these setup in my home theater and it felt like they would bust your head open, now I’m down to only one and it only feels like it will cave your chest in . Highly recommended if you can find one and the prices are decent although they are rising .
