It's official, the Sansui Serial Number Database has now topped 10,000 serial numbers! As of October 31, 2020 we have compiled 10,335 unique serial numbers representing 1,079 distinct Sansui models. The monthly Sansui Database Report resides in Digital Docs and can be accessed with this LINK.
October was a record month for serial number submissions with 446 serial numbers posted. (365 of those serial numbers were posted by AK member Reidy12) When duplicates were removed there were able to add 396 new serial numbers to the database.
A tip of the hat to our two super posters, AK members Reidy12 and Oilmaster. These two members have been scouring the internet worldwide to "harvest" serial numbers and have significantly increased the number of Japanese Domestic Models on file. Although these and several others have been regular contributors to the database, every serial number is important. Even if posted one by one.
Some background on the Database. It was originated by AK member and former Sansui Forum moderator @Morden2004 around 2003. He maintained the database until December of 2009. At that time there were 5,448. Since the Database was revived in March of 2017, AK members have nearly doubled the number of serial numbers on file.
The database is valuable resource that can help determine the date range of manufacture of Sansui products. It can also give an idea of how many of a particular model were produced. The accuracy of this type of information is directly dependent on the quantity of serial numbers on file. The more serial numbers we collect, the more accurate the information supplied by the database.
Please post new serial numbers in the 2017 Sansui Database Thread located in the Sansui Equipment Database forum. You can access it from the link at the top of the main page for the Exclusively Sansui Forum.
When posting serial numbers please use this format: Model,Serial Number,AK User Name. It should look like this: 9090DB,821234567,LBPete Please only use commas to separate the values, no spaces, nothing other than model,serial number,username
