I have auditioned at the local dealer the SF Venere 2.0 many times, and it is a refined speaker, very nice sounding, and I might consider it in my Top 10 bookshelf that I have auditioned. My top pick is in your price range is Revel Performa3 M105 and M106, IMO, an amazing speaker at that price range. Also in my Top 5 would be Monitor Audio Gold series. If it comes to just the two (2) choices the OP mentioned, I would go for the SF Venere 2.0, not only a very pleasant sound that you can listen to all day, but visually stunning also.

thanks ... i was heading to the sonus faber ... in fact i listened to the venere 1.5 but the bass should be better with the 2.0.
placement of the speakers is really hard in my room so i will stay with the front ported sonus faber.
was planning to power them with a class A/D amp ( nuprime IDA8) or an atoll IN100SE

Tough decision, it is up to you as to what you need, as far as features, because as far as musicality both are extremely competent units. Personally, I like the IDA8, because of it's overachieving DAC section, but like the IN100SE's having more inputs.

As for the Venere 1.5, depends on your budget. The 1.5 goes down to 50 Hz, while the 2.0 goes down to 45 Hz. I heard the 1.5 only once, and liked it. I like the accuracy of smaller speakers of the same series, but it depends on room size, equipment, etc. If you have a subwoofer or are planning on adding one, I don't see why not the 1.5, but that is without knowing how loud you hear your music, and listening room conditions.
