Well being a CASO (Cheap @$$ Studebaker Ower) and no mention of what else is in that there aircraft carrier... he is dreaming. Or maybe its the fact he could well be a snoody Avanti owner...

Thats a promise, if you called and tried to explain that no one on this earth wants a 9 foot console. He would start screaming, I paid so and so amount when I bought it new, and the cabinet is so and so. Been there done that....but I do enjoy dragging them to the curb and busting out the axe, boy the looks on faces :D
 
Much like the avanti (being ahead of its time), This price is ahead of its time. maybe in another 40 years this will be worth that much.. for some reason
 
If there are some vintage JBL drivers in there, it might be worth it to go and take the back covers off and take a look. A pair of 15 inch alnico woofers, some 375 compression mid drivers and a pair of 077 Clear prism tweeters would be worth about that much. Of course, no telling what's in there.

too bad there's no info on any electronics in there, should be good stuff if paired with JBL's.

However, as you mentioned, YMMV as well as the worth of your time to check. Good Luck!

This is true, but you figure that would be top dollar for drivers, this would leave no room for profit. I may call out of curiosity but those are usually what they bring in the asian market. I would never shell that out for them, if it was an eames design speaker system hell yes but not that. When it gets to consoles that big you have to really ask your self is it worth the time and effort to hall that huge coffin away?
 
Well I just called out of curiosity. There is no equipment included in the cabinet, but he would be willing to throw in a yamaha tuner. He thought I was crazy to think there was equipment in the cabinet. He said that the speakers are JBL, I asked him what the model numbers are, he said there is no model or name on any of the speakers. Well how do you know there jbl? He said thats what he was told. I then asked him if I can buy the speakers separate, I said the cabinet would become firewood for me, oh that started the whole, this isn't firewood, its a beautiful piece of furniture blah blah blah. He said he doesn't know what he would want for just the speakers and followed by a click.
