18” Powerfield or New Subwoofer

I’m currently using a definitive technology 18” powerfield. Think it has a 450w amp and probably from the 1990s. Considering buying something else to replace the 18 or just find another matching 18. Would like a dual sub setup when I’m done, or maybe more. The 18 sounds decent now with movies, I’m sure it will be better once get a mic/minidsp 2x4hd and setup better. Would you find another matching 18 or maybe even a 15? Or get a new sub? If a new sub, what are some suggestions?

I doubt you could improve on that sub without a major investment. I wouldn't swap out the woofer. This thing was originally rated to down to 13hz. These are relatively rare these days, but I did find a few that sold in the last few years, so they are out there.

What you trying to do with dual subs? What are your main speakers?

Was going to use one sub in front of room and another in the back. Main speakers are Polk audio rt2000i’s, center is Polk cs400i, rears I been comparing Polk rt1000i’s & fx/1000’s. Receiver is a Denon avr-5803

Your RT2000i's are spec'ed as being flat down to 32hz, so you probably won't need the sub for most music (I assume you have them configured as "large" in your AVR's setup menu), unless you're a pipe organ enthusiast. The reason I asked is that if you were looking to set up left/right subs then you'll want two that are identical. But with one in front and one in the rear, I think you'd be fine using a different brand/model in the back.
