1950's decade of Audio kit building

Hi
I'm new to this site and hope to add some facts about audio theory and building amps in the 1950-70s from kits and scratch.
My first was a Lafayette 18w /per chan 7 tube Stereo Pwr Amp(hybrid construction)offered in kit form, I built it in 1958 The 2 Push-Pull audio output # 7189 tubes-socketed on the chassis,while 2 drivers 6AN8's and associated components were on 2 individual PC boards-the rest was point- point wiring,open ( no cover )chassis was of a heavy gauge baked enamel finish with a bottom protective plate.It's currently undergoing cleaning, testing and will be used with a pre-amp for a guitar I'd be happy to discuss it's many interesting features and circuitry ( my strong suit ) the state of the art of that time with those whose curiosity peaks when talk of audio, high fedelity ( Hi Fi ) was new to our ears,we were all on a learning curve.What a ride!!

Lots of Heathkits, Hafler, Dynaco and Lafayette units were built on the kitchen table by my older brother.

This Lafayette is still working and sits in a remote cabin enduring deep freezes and plenty of heat over the past 30 years.

Thanks for the interest ....nice to know there are others who care for that special sound that only vacuum technology can give you,
