1960 vintage RCA Victor Stereo console

Hi from Ohio, My inlaws have a RCA victor console model 3VF534. It still works and is a sharp piece that I would like to see my son have it for his apartment. My question is should retain the older tube amp and tuner or replace with new? If I was to replace I would think someone would be interested in the older tube amp and tuner. I would appreciate your opinions. Thanks, Zeke60

Welcome.

The console preservationists among us would have you keep it original. If its currently working, thats most of the challenge. Making it reliable is easy at this point.

If it is a decent piece, the old amp is probably the best part of it, and if you were going to a newer amp and speakers it'd be better to ditch the console form factor.

So, I as well vote "restore" not "replace."

Thanks to everyone for the replies. I would like to post a pic of the console once I figure how to do it. I will check out the tube forum for more imformation. Thanks again

That is a beauty. Other than having it checked over, I wouldn't change a thing. Tubes have a richness that Solid State just can't match.

Welcome to AK
That is a beautiful console.
Take the other posters' advice, keep it original and have it checked over.
