Thank you for the upgrade information for this unit. I bought one upgraded,WOW ,best sounding one to date.i believe the person is trnfmr that provided the upgrade , thank you if you are still on this site. I bought another st 97,dead as a doornail, didn't go into it yet. I will commence with the electrical restoration information I acquired on this site. This is the "less is more" tuner of them all. I run this thing through a 1973 Sony str 6064 receiver utilizing the AUX INPUTS . Speakers are el cheapo 1963 allied knight a2330. The other night I sat in front of this thing for HOURS, couldn't turn it off due to the audio quality of this thing! I have been burned out on the replayed over and over again rock of the 1970's. Well,this time listening to this type of music again ,a new layer of sound came through those speakers! My advice, if an Eico ST 97 comes up,GRAB IT!
