1967 Seeburg Showcase Jukebox , Selection ?

I have this Jukebox working good now except for one issue that I can't find any information about in the service manual or online , so I decided to take the problem here to the experts for some help. I have it set up for Freeplay with a micro switch on the coin return button to the yellow and black wires on the coin switch mechanism. This is a single credit switch. A coin can still be used if wanted ? . The issue that I am having is something that I have not seen ever before, every other letter on the selection key's is not working ? Letter A - doesn't work, Letter B - does work, ECT ECT to the very last letter, all of the numbers work. I tried two SCC3 control centers one Rebuilt and both do the same exact thing. I just did a 1966 Seeburg Discotheque with the same control system using a UDPU4, this one has a UDPU5 . I tested the Tormat with a 1.5 volt battery and it works without skipping any letters. I looked at the SKU and the two letter switches connect in series , not sure how it could skip every other letter with wiring like that. SS 160 is the Seeburg model number. Stereo Showcase is the name. Any help really appreciated ! . Thanks ahead of time. This thing was DOA with bad everything when I started on it , so I have made some progress. But this one problem has got me really stumped ! .

Yes, coin can still be used even on freeplay. Your jukebox also likely needs some attention. I'd google the Jukebox-List email list archives, read and join. And also study up on the Seeburg.

I've been reading the service manual over and over again and I have repaired many Seeburg Tormat systems already. I will check with the site that you have suggested.

You have the advantage here that you know the Tormat and have repaired them and troubleshot them. Wonder if it works well with the freeplay modification disabled? Just curious. And your Stereo Showcase is beautiful and should be very good sounding.

Thanks , I just finished looking at it again and I manually put it on A1 and turned it by hand until it loaded A1 and put a credit on and pressed A1 and it played the record but the indicator light did not light up on the left side selection, I think it may be a problem in the record player mechanism and it may or may not have anything to do with the Tormat or Control Center. To play side A a relay changes the motor direction. All of the not working letters seem to be on the left side. So basically the left side selection's aren't working and the right side selection's are working. Going to go back and study the service manual over again and see if I can figure it out.

I think I have found the problem with every other letter not selecting and it playing only the right side or B side's of records, I found a wire missing on one of the 2 Tormat pins, (see pic) the inside pin has a very small wire on it but the outside pin is missing the wire completely, it may have hooked on something and it pulled it off when it was out or open at some point. The record player mechanism was a lot cleaner then they usual ly are , almost like it was pulled out and cleaned and oiled, the wire is very tiny and easily could have been torn off . It's Fixed now working good ! . Thanks for the sounding board until I figured it out !

That missing wire on the Tormat pin was what I was going to suggest looking for. Went through some notes of mine on an AY-160 restoration, and had this issue. And that missing wire on the Tormat pin was why. Resoldered the outside pin wire correctly per manual, never had that issue ever again.
