1N60 & 1N60-P Diode Substitutes?

I plan to replace 2 heat-stressed diodes on the RF section power supply circuit board on my recently acquired Sansui 9090DB. The diodes are 1N60 and 1N60-P. I have read elsewhere on this forum that the BAT41 Schottky Diode is a suitable replacement for 1N60. I have easy access to the original 1N60 Germanium component as well as BAT41 diodes. However, I am unable to find a 1N60-P diode here in Australia.

Question 1: Is it best to use the BAT41 instead of the Germanium 1N60 in this hot spot?

Question 2: Is a BAT41 suitable as a substitute for a 1N60-P? If not, what else can I use?

Many thanks in advance.

One is described as "Gold Bonded" and the other is "Point Contact" with different applications listed. And as the OP says one is more robust than the other.

Really need to gain an idea of why such similar spec' but actually different diodes, have been used, if as you say they are in the PSU then it should be fine to use the same replacement (BAT41) for both. BAT41, often chosen because of low forward volt drop to match the germanium ones.

You have got me really confused, the RF power supply F-2619 only has 1 diode and 1 zener the zener is a 1/2watt 5.6volt and the other diode is a standard rectifier diode which is only used to supply DC power for the stereo lamp. attached is a picture of the RF power supply is this the same one you are working on

Jim, sorry for leading you and others up the garden path, my greatest apologies.

To clarify, the F-2619 power supply board does not include either the 1N06 or 1N06-P diodes as stated in my first post. The RF power supply board attached in the previous post is the same as the one I am working on.

Let me re-phrase my questions:

(A). Is BAT41 a suitable substitute for the factory fitted 10D1 diode on the F-2619 board? (Specs are attached for the 10D1 diode.)

(B). In light that this area on my F-2619 board is a hot-spot, would a higher wattage Zener diode of equal voltage generally outlast a lower wattage Zener of the same voltage?

I also plan to work on the F-2657 power relay circuit board. The attached pic of this board shows that it is fitted with four, 1N06 diodes and two, 1N06-P diodes.

(C). Would BAT41 diodes serve as a suitable replacement for the 1N06-P diodes?

I have both BAT41 diodes and 1N06 diodes on hand. A data sheet archive cross reference indicates that a regular 1N06 could be a suitable replacement for 1N06-P diodes but given that the 1N06-P diode is slightly more robust, I figure it would be best to run my query past someone more knowledgeable than me.

Jim - thanks for the link. I will address the tuner power supply heat problem. I would be very grateful if the photos were re-attached to your posts if you can find them. Cheers!
