$20,000 for untested speakers...whoa.

There are a LOT of worthwhile projects there, of that there is no doubt at all.

But, there's no possible way in the universe that i'm man enough to bridge the gap between that seller and reality. In fact, i don't believe i've ever met such a man.

Just my perspective y'all understand...

There is at least 20k or more in the KLH 9s.

I originally assumed your comment was in irony.

I didnt know of the mighty Nine speakers prior.

But in googling it more so takes me right back to audiokarma.

In the value thread folks comment on sales for working pairs being anywhere from $250-1k on average. Then folks claiming restored pairs should fetch $1k-2k. No proof of it happening overall.

Also if JansZen is in fact still doing restore work they charged, back then, $2k+. And about the power supplies being ported in tar to add weight to the base to the speaker and needing to be heated and melted down then cleaned to be rebuilt. And how stat bass and mid bass panels may be totally mia. And how they are fragile and next to impossible to ship.

All that said seems if one stumbles into a properly restored pair locally for a deal they are a cats ass experience.

It would be neat to hear pinnacle of audio 67 compared to today's panel tech. Have we really come further???

very true...feedback I get was speakers are too large for their space, so they are getting rid of them, and buyers are saying they don’t want them. Especially in the Bay Area here, where every square foot costs more than the speakers...
That's the reason I sold my Warfedale W-90's. They were just too big for the room. It's the same reason the person sold them to me to begin with he didn't have room for them either.

No room, I can relate. After over 20 years of collecting, the speaker thing had to end. I have gear in every room except the kitchen and bathroom. Just remembered, I do have gear in kitchen......Have been looking at end game speakers the last couple years, but would still have to move some things out before that happens.

That's where I'm at. Looking for those "them's the ones!" speakers. I've been shedding equipment I'll never use lately.

I’m reminded of a storage unit full in ND for $10K. That wasn’t worth cleaning out.

Something tells me it a “collection” and there may be a lot of issues.
