I believe it. :yes: Acoustics are strange, aren't they.
Two significant projects - both related to my vintage Mac system.
One: having my second pair of MC-30s (which are consecutives) rebuilt, using the Russian surplus K40 capacitors in the key spots. This is an attempt to build a "warmer, PIO" kind of MC-30, in contrast with the Sonic Craft Platinum capped MC-30 pair that I already had done a couple years ago. So I'm running two MC-30 sets, each possessing thier own kind of "finishing touch". I wasn't sure what caps to use to rebuild MC-30s, so I did some experiments with the help of some forum friends and came up with these two "takes" on the MC-30 (again with huge help from forum friends). More to be said on this soon.....
Two: The continued stocking of my "tube library" to keep these and my other tube gears fitted with the best valves obtainable for the long term. It's been a productive year, securing all the wanted Tele and Philips/Amperex 12AX7, as well as some key Philips and Mullard 12AU7. Some work to do here on the power tube front in 2009, and a few other smaller needs, but I'm almost done. It's nice to have a local tube pro here to weed out the bad stuff and to match pairs and so forth, which keeps my stock "top shelf". As important a project as ANY component acquisition or rebuild...and it's gone very well.
That's the balance of my audio year in two paragraphs:yes:

Those are old pics Vic but still no rack.... I like it that way. No side wall reflections of the rack and gear.

No seriously, I have a gorgeous Michael Green rack that has been in that room but now it is collecting dust in the basement. I found it really compressed the right hand soundstage and the early reflections/flutter echoes were getting to me.

Correct. The room sounds much better that way. The Sumiko guys also agreed. :yes: These are older pics so no subs in them.
