Here is the cut sheet of the new MC303 amp.

At 300 watts per channel the new McIntosh MC303 Three Channel Power Amplifier with Autoformers is our most powerful multichannel amplifier offering to date. This powerhouse is also the first ever multi-channel amplifier from McIntosh to include Autoformer coupled output stages. The McIntosh Autoformer, a premium technology found only on the best McIntosh designs, allows each channel of the MC303 to deliver maximum power into 2, 4, or 8 ohm loads resulting in the lowest noise and distortion performance possible. With available peak power of 1200 watts per channel, the MC303 is ready to drive the finest loudspeakers to sound their very best.

Premium cosmetics featuring a ½” thick glass faceplate, custom machined and anodized aluminum handles, and a mirror polished stainless steel chassis are standard equipment on the MC303. Power Guard, a McIntosh circuit innovation, maximizes sound quality at high power levels while our Sentry Monitor feature provides continuous short circuit protection of the amplifier and connected loudspeakers. A triple bank of Peak Reading Watt Meters provides instant recognition of power output and may be switched off for theater use.

While the Home Theater potential for this product is obvious, the MC303 is equally at home in very high quality stereo systems; specifically those systems with tri-amp capabilities (XRT1K owners take note!).

The amplifier measures 17 ¾” x 12 5/16” x 22” (W x H x D) and weighs 155 lbs. The MSRP of the new McIntosh MC303 is $10,000 (US & Canada), and orders are being accepted now.

What a great idea, I wish this amp was available when I had my XRT30 speakers.

The next step up power wise is 3 x MC501. MC303 is the most we could do with 3 output and one power transformer as well as heat sinks on three sides of the amp. This is why it is the same size but 8 lbs. heavier than the 1.2KW.

Would make an excellent amp for original Paul W. Klipsch three-speaker arrangement (Klipschorn in corners with Cornwall or Heresy in the middle) but 300 watts would be total overkill.

Overkill?? Naahh!:nono: I run my Khorns w/ 2102's bridged (200w perchannel)! 1 2102 sounded to "soft" 2 of them were MAGIC!! One day I'll bust open my MC2000's...... but Not yet!:banana:
 
I have really come to believe that there is no such thing as too much power!

I am loving my Cornwalls with 400 watts!!!

They have NEVER Sounded better IMHO.

I think that the 303 will be a great amp.
 
Hmmmm for Multi Channel if you need it is a great solution.

The 205, 207 is really not enough to push B&W 800 801 or 802D, but this might do the trick for 802D's at the minimum and wonder about 800D's.

Natural for something like a MC303 on the fronts and mc252 or mc352 for the rear assignment

otherwise as Ron C points out, next step up in power is the 501's

It definitely fills a Gap in the line up for multi quality. :)
