I would've given serious consideration to these had they existed when I bought my Honda VTX1300. An air-cooled bike in the summer heat/humidity didn't make sense to me so I ruled out the Sportster 883. The 6-speed on these is a real selling point too.
 
Good on them for thinking outside of the box they've been so firmly entrenched in for so long. I bet this strategy will become a money maker for them.

Interesting:
Street 750 and 500 models sold in the US, Mexico and Canada will be assembled (engine and bike) at Harley-Davidson's Kansas City facility. Those sold internationally will be manufactured in India.

Well, I'm definitely not the target demographic, but anything that adds revenue gives them the ability to grow the brand, so it's all good.
 
I think it's a nice looking bike but I bet all the guys who have built their "club style" Sons of Anarchy clone bikes must be really bummed.
 
In that one pic, my eyes keep going to the radiator. Of course, you're not going to be viewing it from that angle unless you're laying on the street but still...

Otherwise, looks pretty cool and I hope they sell a zillion of them.

I know some people don't think much about this Harley, but this Cafe from the mid 70s has to be one of the nicest bike ever made, even by today standard.
The new crop of mid level Harley will be good seller. Only Harley knows how to make a good looking bike from the get go, they don't copy anybody, they lead. :thmbsp:

That big Suzuki single (what, 650cc?) could be cool if it had Limey styling, like a Velocette or something, rather than it's cruiser styling. Or if not retro some modern styling that worked with the engine rather than apologizing for it.
 
My lawn mower is air cooled -- so should every motorcycle. If they can't make an air cooled 500 that meets the global emission laws they may as well fold the tent and go home.

Pure water-cooled crap.
