2015 power draw

I have been working on a basket case 2015 for awhile and have it working pretty well. It is cosmetically nice and I have replaced all the normal items, including bulbs, diodes, caps. The only issue left is the FM section, which will be addressed soon. 3 of the 4 output transistors were bad and I replaced them all. Like I said, the unit is now working well with the exception of the FM. But, that is not my immediate concern. I have used all inputs and all are working well. The potential problem I have is current draw. I originally saw that the DBT was glowing dimly with a 40 watt blub. I am now measuring the draw at 50 watts while the amplifier is playing nicely. However, the heat sink is quite warm to the touch and, the specs show it draws only 20 watts. All the voltages check good.

Have you checked/set bias or dc offset?

I ran into a snag. When I began testing just now, the outputs on the left channel shorted and smoked! So, when I get everything back in place, I will proceed to adjust. Thank you for the info…I did not see this in the SM.
