I put a couple hours use on my 2218 this afternoon. Even took it out of its wood case. Don't know why, but I also like it out of the wood case - guess it's small size makes it looks smaller without the wood, and being small, good sound and that certain blue lighting along the dial scale makes it a simplistic good looking receiver. That blue lighting is just wonderful looking. This one has new caps etc - not a bad little receiver pumping into a pair of Klipsch speakers.
I'm surprised I don't see more about the 2218.
Got the 2218 along with a 2245, and the 2245 doesn't make me want to let go of the 2218.

2218 is rare, that's why you don't see much about it. I'm sure 2216 and 2216B were stealing sales, they were still around when the 2218 was introduced.

I do like the look of the 2218 though.
 
I have one set up in my kitchen cabinet feeding two pairs of speakers. Great unit, had another as a spare until my sister heard the one. Fixed her up a nice system and she still thanks me from time to time.

I love my 2218! Use it as my bedroom system. It is simply beautiful to look at all lit up at night!
