I’ve been happily using a Marantz 2245 Catrafter restored for me—hard to believe it’s been about 15 years! It has been in regular rotation ever since.
I was hoping to run something by you experts in case you might be able to point me in the right direction for a local repair.
Recently, I’ve noticed an occasional light clicking sound while the unit is powered on. It’s similar to the power‑on relay click, though much quieter. I’m using the 2245 as a pre‑amp into another amplifier, and there are no speakers attached directly to the 2245. When the clicks occur, they don’t seem to affect the sound coming from the speakers, and the clicks are barely audible if music is playing.
If you have any thoughts on what might be causing this before I look locally (Columbus, OH) for service, I’d really appreciate it!
