2250B transistor replacements

Hey, I wanted to run this by the guys here.

Would a KSC2690 work as a replacement for the 2SC875 in the marantz 2250B? I generally dislike the older tin can style of transistors and wanted to check that it would work ok in the application.

Thanks! I like to go a bit overkill generally.

Will probably leave the 2SB549 and 2SD415s in since they work okay.

I was thrown of since the hFe of the 2690 was much higher than the 875.

The possibilities for TO-5, TO-39 package Japanese transistor substitutes are limited.
I have found that 2N3440 (NPN) and 2N5415 or 2N5416 (PNP) seem to work fine in most instances.
