2250b used as pre amp ?

Hi I have a 2250b and was wondering if I can use it as a pre amp . I can pick up a marantz 170 power amp .The 2250 has the main in and pre out jacks on the back which are jumpered right now ,and I would just like to know before I purchase the power amp, thanks in advance for any replies .

Ok so if I pull the jumpers on my main in and pre out jacks, and connect my pre out jacks from my receiver to my input left and right on my power amp and make sure the speakers on my receiver are turned off , then I should be good to go .I just want to make sure so I don,t damage anything .
