2275 and XRT28

Just returned from the Heathrow show in London and heard the big Mac system with XRT2K's. Awesome by the way.

Spoke with the UK distributor and the Mcintosh guy and they recommended going for the XRT28 with a 2275. The synergy is there but will they be successful in 19ft by 9ft UK living room? I'm sorely tempted to put off purchasing anything else and saving hard for the Mac's. Can the 2275 drive them? Is this mission impossible if I want the Vienna Philharmonic in my living room  ?

I have the quistion! I just got the 2275 and is considering the XRT 28. My room is bigger but that wil not help the 2275 driving the XRT 28?

We have used the XRT28s in many shows using the MC275 to run them. This is the same power as the MC2275 of course. 75 watts will run the XRT28s up to a very good volume of 100 Db or so. If you listen very loudly you can use up to 1200 watts on the XRT28s which will exceed 110 Db.
So will 75 watts do the Vienna Philharmonic in your living room? Probably if you sit half way back in the audience!
Your other option is to use the MC275 and one of the separate pre amps. You can always add another MC275 in mono if more power is needed.

Thanks,
