Recently rebuilt a 2275 and unit is working and sounding great. Started on a 2250B and noticed that unit sounds louder in all modes (FM, AUX and Phono). I used the 2275 preamp into 2250 mains and the lower level sound was present. Reversed the wiring, 2250B preamp into 2275 mains and the 2275 was noticeably louder. This leads me to believe the 2275 preamp is the cause of the lower level sound.
The rebuild of the PE01 board included replacement of all electrolytics, transistors to KSC1845FTA and KSA992 transistors and the BA312 kit from Sparkos Labs. I was under the impression the Sparkos front end increased the gain some, but maybe I'm wrong. Any ideas on why this board, which as I said works and sounds great, causes a noticeably lower sound level? Is there an easy way to check I'm getting the correct gain through the board?
Thanks
