2275 with a humming noise

I have a 2275 receiver with a humming sound comming from both speakers. I can hit pause on my cd player and hear it. It does not get louder with the volume and only goes away if I depress either one of the mono buttons (or both). Weird. Any ideas?:scratch2:

Have you tried Deoxit on the switches? The tape monitor and mono switches can cause problems. Shoot some Deoxit D5 into the bottom of them so you get it inside the switch. If that's not the problem, the filter capacitors often cause hum. That's about all I know. Give the deoxit a try and come back.

Does the hum change as you adjust the tone controls?

This morning it is not doing it. If it stars again I will see if the tone controls change the hum.
