2N4915 -> 2SC1402?

Hey all,
I found a couple bad output transistors in a Scott A436. The original transistors are 2N4915. I have a clutch of 2sc1402 transistors that I pulled out of a different unit. It SEEMS like those would be an acceptable replacement… is there any reason why they wouldn’t work?

not sure if pinout if the same or not, but should work just fine. The original had a bit higher dissipation, but not a biggie. Throw them in and let us know how it goes.

Hey Dan!

So far so good! Popped them in and I’m getting an appropriate DBT response. Finishing up swapping some caps on the amp board and ditching the old C1000 transistors, but we should be good to go in about an hour! I’ll check back once testing begins.

It’s official… they worked LIKE A CHAMP! I’m SO glad I didn’t pitch those! I recapped the phono stage and power amp while I was in there, and pulled all the old c1000 transistors and put in fresh 1845s. It’s sounding great!
