2SC1000 pinout confusion

I am working on a Scott R326 . Tone board has 2 transistors labeled C1000, older type with GR on top. I believe this is an 2SC100 type. When I bring up any data sheets, the pinout is shown as BCE. I am planning to replace with KSC1845 which i believe has pinout ECB. Here is my confusion- when I test the removed C1000, I get a pinout of ECB. Were there some types of the C1000 with a different pinout? The tone board also has 4 other transistors which are MPS9633. I will probably replace those with KSC1845 as well. (Schematic shows these could be MPS9633 or 2SC1000). I did notice some of the C1000 transistors on the phono board and will try to do those as well.
