Unless the transistors are damaged or missing, I wouldn't replace them.
Original JIS transistors are getting harder to find, there are many counterfeit parts out there.
The letter following the JIS (Japanese Industry Standard) transistor number is the Hfe or 'gain' code. Generally speaking the further 'down' the alphabet, the higher the gain.
