Having more power isn't always the solution. You really won't notice a change unless you are driving the speakers into distortion, which will fundamentally change the sound. A 7200 won't do you any good unless you are driving below 4 ohm speakers where the amps current capabilities really shine or unless your woofers just prefer an amp with a high damping factor. As you have Sl-6 speakers which are pretty inefficient and don't preform well in the bottom octave as they are designed to be used with a sub woofer in a Home theatre system, I would look for speakers as a final solution. Maybe a pair of XRT 28's or something else with another additional 6 db of sensitivity. Then you could just keep your current amp. If you did go with the 28's you'd need a 602 or more to keep them happy. I use to see 402's cry uncle in demo rooms when I would bring some of my favorite recordings for demos. I would get comfortable at or around 10 watts and then a crescendo would happen and the Power Guard lamps would flash and the sound image would just collapse. I guess that's why when listening to most Mac speakers my favorite amp is the 1.2K. With more efficient speakers I'm looking forward to auditioning the 301's and 152's this summer.
