3.5mm Jack to RCA

Hi all,

I have recently purchased a Setton RS220 and a set of KEF Cresta 1 speakers, I will be connecting them using QED 79 speaker cable.

I am new to the audiophile world and am clueless about setting up my system. There is some info on the RS220 available here:
http://www.hifi-studio.de/hifi-klassiker/Setton/Setton_RS220/RS220.htm

I would like to connect my TV (a new Pannasonic Viera tx-40c300b) or laptop or MP3 player to the receiver via either the AUX/TapeA/B-play ports, does anyone have any views on which input port would be best...or if any of them are unsuitable? I know to avoid the phono input.

I believe I will need to get an audio jack to RCA cable to make the connection from TV/laptop/MP3 to receiver. I have looked on ebay and there are a huge variety to choose from, could anyone provide some guidence for me?

I expect that 6, the QED, is probably the best, but is it good enough to justify the price relative to the other options?

Many thanks,

Peter

Myself, I'd not spend the 22. I'd buy one of the less expensive ones that looked to have decent connectors.

Thanks for your reply guys, really useful to have the input of people who know what they are talking about. I have now bought one of the cheaper versions. Any idea whether the AUX/TapeA/B-play ports have any differences between them? Can I plug the tv/laptop/mp3 into either or both? Many thanks, Peter

Personally, I'd invest in an entry-level DAC and interface with USB or Toslink, but then that would only be if you wanted the best sound out of the system . . .

Go Emotiva XDA and you'll also gain some remote control capability. That's what I did

All inputs other than phono inputs are line level inputs and are functionally the same. You can use any of them except for phono inputs.
