3 generations of heavy rock/metal

I bought tickets for the Disturbed, Breaking Benjamin, St. Astonia, and Alter bridge concert at Montage Mountain in PA for next friday the 29th. We're going as a family group and it just occurred to me that ages range from 11 to 60 and includes grandkids and a grandmother and all of us love these bands. Sometimes the generation gap isn't as wide as you might think. We all keep an open mind to music and it's surprising where it all comes together sometimes.

That's going to be an awesome concert! I've seen Disturbed, Breaking Benjamin, and Alter Bridge as well as Three Days Grace with Adam Gontier and none of them disappointed. My dad is 53 and loves these bands actually a little more than I do (I'm more of a European metal fan), so yeah it's awesome to be able to come together over music.

That's awesome Oblivion! You are lucky - my parents stopped listening to music about 1965 and they don't have a clue what's out there. However my niece and nephew are right into all the same rock my brother and I were into and I'm into most of what's come down the pipe since the sixties. It's great to rock out with people 30 yrs. younger than we are. Enjoy the sharing you lucky dawg.

I am really looking forward to it. I've been really lucky while being exposed to music and have always kept an open mind.I tend to lean towards heavy rock and metal, but can appreciate some of everything from all eras and I think that has been instilled into me and in turn, my kids.

haha just watched the cover of "The sound of silence" by Disturbed last night on Youtube. Bands like that never visit my country *so sad*

I've been to Priest/Queensrych and others and always amazed at the different age groups. A 60 yo lady next to a high school kid wearing an Alice Cooper tee. They all tell me the same thing. They want to "Rock Out".
That show is coming to my neck of the woods. I'll be there. Have fun.

The kids are ready to rock! My PL400 and 901's are playing garage/backyard duty, and I cranked up a Disturbed youtube show at near concert levels . This will be a good time.

I've been there a few times now, and have no problem bringing my girls there. We had a great time there at the Slipknot show. It's funny how many people stop and stare and high five because my youngest is headbanging.
