3300 Knobs/Other Models?

I have what I thought was a roached 3300, after a couple of hours the turd polished up very nicely and sings with no issues, Some wood treatment on the case and it looks almost perfect. Good day!

I'm missing the outer BASS knob and TUNER knob (ad in BT), did the 3300 share knobs with any other model? My searching says no but I'm usually wrong.

I looked up pics of a 3300 after seeing your post in BT to see if maybe I had some here that matched, but no luck. I think the 5500 has the same style knobs, and is the only other model to get that particular variant.

3300/5500 were very unique. Style looks like the xx1 series, but I doubt the dual controls have a match.

QRX-3000 for tone knobs (if they also used the ribbed shaft with slot)
searched ebay for "sansui knobs"
Saw a number of tuning knobs searching ebay for "sansui tuning knobs" that looked right, again depending on the shaft type.
You could get the service manuals and compare part numbers.

The 3300/5500 have a set screw on the outer bass/treble. I think I'm just going to have to go as far as I can and put it on a shelf. I'll keep an eye on eBay, something will turn up.

QRX-2000/3000 (and 221-881) are somewhat similarly styled knobs, but not identical. Besides set screws on the 3300/5500 not being present on the others, the knurling pattern on the knobs is much tighter (closer together) on the 3300/5500 versus the other models listed above. Might have to settle for more commonly available knobs though, just to get it complete.

I have a 3300, and out of all knobs (Concentric dual bass, concentric dual treble, balance, volume, microphone level, input selector, and tuning) only the dual tone knobs have setscrews. It has setscrews on the inner and outer tone knobs I have worked on many amps and receivers, not Sansuis, with concentric controls that don't use setscrews. Probably has more to do with the potentiometer design in the than anything.
To your knowledge, is the size of the fluted and slotted shafts consistent across a lot of Sansui amplifiers and receivers? I've only had the 3300 and an AU7700, so my experience is limited.
I also scoured my 3300 service manual for part numbers, but of all the hundreds of parts shown, the knobs are oddly not in any of the many parts lists.

Most Sansui gear from 66-1982 had splined shafts on the the pots and rotary switches. Many tuners and receivers had a unique shaft design that had one "notch" in it so that only the corresponding tuning knob would fit on it.

There were a number of exceptions however, in the 70-73 timeframe that had controls with smooth (non-splined) shafts. These all had knobs with set screws, as there was nothing else to hold the knobs onto a smooth shaft. Stating about 1983/84, some models began being fitted with controls with a half flatted (D shaped) shaft.
